UDUPI: A JD(S) leader in Udupi on Tuesday has filed a complaint in Padubidri police station against AICC vice president
Rahul Gandhi who had claimed that Pakistan's spy agency, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), contacted some Muslim youth who lost their family members during the Muzaffarnagar riots in Uttar Pradesh. Ghulam Mohammed, working president of Udupi district unit of JD(S), the complainant, said that if such information which was to be known to the prime minister had been revealed to Rahul Gandhi as claimed by the latter, a probe should be conducted on the intelligence official.
Gulam further stated in the complaint that if no FIR was registered in the matter within two days, he would file a private case in a court. Ghulam Mohammed has mentioned in the complaint that the
Congress leader's statement has tarnished the image of Muslims of the country. It also damages the communal harmony. However no FIR was registered at Padubidri police station. Padubidri police told TOI that as the incident has taken place in a different part of the country, no FIR could be registered in Padubidri police station. ''We have accepted the complaint and will pass it on to the concerned authority'', police added.
